The first free practice for the fourth round of the Blancpain Sprint Series on the Moscow Raceway proved to be very interesting, with drivers swapping places all the time. With a last minute effort, Norbert Siedler in the #333 Rinaldi Racing Ferrari set the fastest time, clocking a 1'38.020 on the 15-turn circuit.
Nick Catsburg in the #88 Reiter Engineering Lamborghini was pushed to second, a mere 65 thousands of a second slower than Seefried's time. Third was Frank Stippler in the #4 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT car, in front of teammates Stephane Richelmi (#3 Audi) and Robin Frijns (#1 Audi). Marko Asmer in the #71 GT Russian Team Mercedes was quickest in Pro-Am, with Jules Szymkowiak in the #83 Bentley Team HTP as fastest of the Silver Cup drivers.
