McLaren GT announces Blancpain GT Series plans for factory drivers

McLaren GT has confirmed that several of its factory drivers will again be part of the Blancpain GT Series this year. Double Blancpain Endurance Series race winner Rob Bell will be at the start of all ten rounds of the Blancpain GT Series in 2016, while Alvaro Parente - in 2014 winner of the Monza Blancpain Endurance Series round - will compete in the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup. The Portuguese driver has claimed victory in a previous incarnation of the championship, winning in the 2013 Navarra race of the FIA GT Series. New McLaren GT factory driver Côme Ledogar will also be part of the line-up. The 24-year old Frenchman will race in the five rounds of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. All will drive a McLaren 650S GT3.

Andrew Kirkaldy (Managing Director, McLaren GT): "The 2016 season is shaping up to be one of the most exciting – and challenging – so far. It is great to have Alvaro and Rob confirmed again for the year as both bring a huge amount of experience in terms of GT racing, but also in terms of the 650S GT3 specifically, having both driven to titles in its first full year of competition. I am also really pleased to announce Côme as an addition to our Factory Driver line-up. He really impressed us when he raced with one of our customer teams at Spa a few years ago and we have kept a close eye on his progress."
