Reiter Young Stars Caitlin Wood and Markus Heistekangas step up to Blancpain GT Series in 2017

Australian Caitlin Wood and Finn Marko Heistekangas have won the 2016 Reiter Young Stars competition (RYSC) and will now team up at the wheel of a Reiter Engineering Lamborghini in the 2017 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup. The RYSC is a partnership between Reiter, SRO Motorsports Group and KTM. The unique competition is run within the Competition 102 GT4 European Series and aimed at developing driving and engineering talent, with each X-Bow GT4 run by university students.

Caitlin Wood ended an exciting season as the top female driver, with Marko Heistekangas being the fastest male driver. They will now form a partnership in next year’s Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup, at the wheel of a Lamborghini entered by Reiter Engineering.

Caitlin Wood: “I am obviously ecstatic about stepping up into GT3 and taking it to the next level. The Blancpain GT Series has some of the best drivers in the world, so to be competing on their level will definitely be a challenge. The hard work has only just begun. In the meantime, I’m trying to get as much seat time in GT cars as I can, and I’m actively pursuing a drive in next year’s Bathurst 12 Hour.”
