The first hour of free practice at the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit, setting of the fourth round of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series, saw plenty of action, despite the overcast conditions. Championship leaders Mirko Bortolotti (#63 Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini) and Franck Perera (#84 Mercedes-AMG Team HTP Motorsport) exchanged positions at the top of the timing sheets, but Pro-Am Cup driver Jules Gounon (#87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG) was the first the break the 2’01 barrier. The French youngster’s laptime was only beaten by another Pro-Am Cup driver: Jonny Adam clocked a 2’00.510 in the #97 Oman Racing Team with TF Sport Aston Martin. Fastest of the Am Cup cars was the #888 Kessel Racing Ferrari. The Pre-qualifying session at Silverstone starts at 15.55 local time and will be streamed live on our website.
