AKKA ASP Team hit the front with its title-chasing #88 Mercedes-AMG during second practice at the Nürburgring.

Raffaele Marciello and Michael Meadows, who enter the season-closing Sprint Cup event level on points with the #1 Belgian Audi Club Team WRT machine of Christopher Mies and Alex Riberas, topped the times thanks to a lap of 1m55.529s.

The #25 Sainteloc-Audi was second fastest thanks to Christopher Haase. The German ace led a pair of Sprint Cup title contenders: the #17 WRT-Audi and the #63 Grasser-Lamborghini.

The #1 WRT-Audi ended the session sixth fastest, while the sister #2 car – which topped the morning session and was the quickest of all on Friday – was classified eighth.

The remaining title-chasing crew, the #66 Attempto-Audi, was 11th fastest in the afternoon session.

Carlo van Dam showed impressive pace in the #39 TP 12 Kessel-Ferrari, which is vying for the Pro-Am title this weekend. The Dutch ace was seventh overall in the car he shares with Piti Bhirombhakdi, half a second clear of their rivals in the #26 Sainteloc-Audi.

The #6 Black Falcon Mercedes-AMG once again showed well, ending the session sixth overall and fastest among the Silver Cup runners.

Saturday will see significant on-track action – and could even see the championships decided – with qualifying taking place at 09.30 and the opening race at 14.05. All of the action will be streamed live on the Blancpain GT Series website
